Philadelphia, PA – April 25, 2018 – In a special ceremony held in the Mayor’s Reception Room at City Hall, partner Bella Schnall of Greenblatt, Pierce, Funt and Flores, LLC (WGP) was presented with the “MVP of VIP” award by Philadelphia VIP.
Founded in 1981 as the “Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for Action Program,” Philadelphia VIP works to recruit volunteer attorneys to provide free legal services to low-income residents facing civil legal problems that threaten their basic needs: shelter, employment, financial stability, education and health. Schnall received the award for her volunteer work on behalf of individuals in need of assistance with family law matters.
“Billie has demonstrated her dedication to serving clients with the most complex legal challenges and facing the greatest barriers to access to justice,” said VIP promotional materials for the event, which described the contributions of the three award candidates. “Billie’s service and impact extend well beyond her work on individual cases. By serving as a mentor to fellow volunteers and VIP staff alike, she is an invaluable asset to VIP and the Philadelphia legal community.”
Schnall, as director of WGP’s Family Law Division, has over 30 years of experience in family law and domestic relations and handles a wide range of matters including divorce, child support and child custody cases as well as drafting of pre- and post-nuptial agreements. Upon receiving the award, she said simply, “I am truly honored for doing what I’d planned to do from the minute I entered law school.”
